The Salzburger Museumsapp is an innovative app for children to learn about time, the past and history while playing. The app connects selected history museums with primary school science lessons or the first history lessons in secondary school by taking up central aspects of curricula.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The following questions are addressed:
• What is time?
• What is the past?
• What does a museum actually do?
• What are historical sources?
• And what can we learn from them about life in the past?
A multimodal offer is provided via different accesses and taking into account different learning speeds and various sensory channels (images, audio tracks, videos, texts).
Based on the requirements of science and history lessons and a modern understanding of historical learning, children are led to a conceptual understanding of the fundamental insights needed to deal with the past and history.
The app also offers teachers the opportunity to use a link to use teaching materials and concepts to embed the app into school lessons. These are offered by Salzburg history didactics: www.geschichtsdidaktik.com
A subsequent visit to the participating museums is expressly recommended:
• tgz-museum.at
• www.museumbramberg.at
The Salzburg MuseumsApp was created with the kind support of the State of Salzburg and the Salzburg University of Education and the University of Salzburg.
